While their preferred qualifications include and insurance sales, Medicare Advantage experience, their hard qualifications include a minimum 1 year of experience working in a high volume call center environment, great communication skills, and flexibility.

Pay is in the $17-$21 per hour range and no state hiring limitations are noted in their job posting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Get Paid to Help People Stay on Their Meds – Work from Home

If you’re looking for a side gig and you like to help people get better, Pleio recently wrote us that they’re recruiting for their GoodStart Mentor positions.

Average pay is $14 – $18/hr., per the company in earlier listings, though some GoodStarter reviews say the average is $17 – $21/hr. A training/performance bonus is also offered.

You’d be helping patients get into a good routine with their meds, via phone using a script. No sales, no medical experience needed. Workflow may vary, so you should probably view this as side income rather than a main job.

Hiring in all states except CA, OH, ND, WA and WY.

Not a fit for everybody, but RRRebel Laura T. posted to our FB page, “I worked for them before. Basically calling people about their medicine and reading blurbs about it. Fairly easy gig. I was averaging about $1,000 a month but wasn’t pushing a whole lot. Some people did really well.” This may not be a typical experience, however, so “your mileage may vary.”

  • Pleio requires that each GoodStart Mentor has an EIN since they are independent contractors. The IRS provides EIN numbers for free. You can obtain an EIN at the IRS website.

Background and Credit Check

Pleio deals with sensitive information on a daily basis. Privacy is a number one priority for us, so the background screening for all of our GoodStart Mentors is a routine security measure. The cost of the background check is $45.00 and is at the expense of the GoodStart Mentor, prior to beginning work.

What can cause me to fail the background check? Applicants must pass both parts of the background and credit checks. Applicants with the following elements on their check will not be accepted:

Judgments and Bankruptcy:
a) Two or more open or active civil judgments/ tax liens (open/ active liens).
b) A bankruptcy within a year of this application or more than one bankruptcy.
Felony Records: Any records with dispositions of guilty, convicted, no contest, adjudication, withheld/deferred adjudication/probation before judgment (if currently under probation), pending, or outstanding warrant, or that have been negotiated down to a misdemeanor.
Misdemeanor Records: If you have 3 or more vehicular records with DUI, Reckless Driving or Hit/Run or 5 or more total misdemeanors, you will not pass. If you have any records involving theft, fraud, dishonesty, breach of trust, arson or violent crimes with dispositions of guilty, convicted, no contest, adjudication withheld/deferred adjudication/probation before judgment (if currently under probation), pending, or outstanding warrant, you will not pass.

Internet Requirements

  • Minimum 15mbps download speed
  • Minimum 3mbps upload speed
  • Check your Internet Speed at http://www.speedtest.net
  • Computer must be on a secure hard-wired connection to the internet in your home office
  • NO wireless connections, dial-up modems, Wi-Fi, cellular hotspots, or satellite connections are accepted

Computer Requirements

  • Laptop or desktop computer running Microsoft Windows 8, or Windows 10 (Macs, Netbooks, Tablets, and Smart Phones are not supported)
  • 1GHz Intel P4 processor, or better
  • Internet Browser – Latest version of Edge or Internet Explorer
  • Minimum Ram – 4GB or higher
  • Monitor must be capable of displaying 1024 x 768 pixels
  • Sound card installed and equipped with speakers or headphones
  • USB headset with a microphone that plugs into your computer for use during patient calls, conference calls, certification sessions, and / or company meetings


Software Requirements

  • Virus/Malware protection installed and set to update automatically with real-time scanning
  • Firewall installed and active Security updates installed and set to automatically update
  • PDF viewer
  • Latest version of Flash player

Printer Requirements

GoodStart programs have approved scripts that will need to be printed out for use during calls.

Telephone Requirements

Pleio’s GoodStart service is delivered through real, live telephone conversations. We want every conversation to be crystal clear and free of interruptions. To qualify to make calls using Pleio’s VOIP system you must meet the follow requirements:

  • Minimum internet speeds of 15mbps download and 3mbps upload are required to be eligible for Pleio’s secured VoIPplatform.
  • You will need a USB headset, with a microphone that plugs into your computer.
  • Proof of internet speed test required at time of application. You can perform a basic speed test here: www.speedtest.net
  • NO cellular phones, Skype or wireless phones of any kind may be used to make calls. Magic Jack, Vonage, or similar services are not allowed.


Training

We believe in education and have developed GoodStartU, an online learning platform, where you can learn at your own pace. All the education you need to learn, the ins and outs of being a GoodStart Mentor are at your fingertips. You control how quickly you get through the training materials. The quicker you complete them, the sooner you will be speaking with patients and changing lives.

Additional certifications and education are offered throughout the year. Every month Pleio offers live webinar sessions with focus around best practices and keys to success.

Training is free and there are a wide variety of learning opportunities. The training to certify as a GoodStart Mentor takes between 10 – 15 hours on average. Pleio does not compensate for training, but we do offer a bonus to new mentors after meeting a minimum of calling hours and metrics.

FAQs

Do you charge GoodStart Mentors to use your technology?

No. There is currently no charge to Mentors to use our systems.

How often can I apply?

You only need to apply once. We keep your application on file, for review if we have a need. Duplicate applications and submissions are not accepted.

Can Pleio terminate my contract?

Either party can cancel the contract at any time. Pleio does not guarantee any minimum call volume, and their may be times when no calls are available. Any breach in terms may cause Pleio to terminate a contract early. Pleio is not obligated to renew the Independent Contractor’s Agreement when the contract term ends.

While they are hiring nationally, the company has only posted the pay rate for Colorado. That rate is “$36,600 – $49,700 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits.” The rate may vary from state to state, but this will give you a rough estimate of the range.

The Office of Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (OSGLI) administers the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance program (SGLI). SGLI offers life insurance products to active-duty service members, Veterans, and their families. Prudential has been aiding our service members since 1965.

Prudential is interviewing for the Office of Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (OSGLI) Customer Service Center, which handles all correspondence and phone calls to and from service members, veterans, and their families. This position is accountable for explaining benefit coverage, documenting, and investigating complaints.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide information to policy holders, parents, spouses, and beneficiaries
  • Receive, evaluate, and answer customer inquiries which are predominately routine but may require deviation from standard screens, scripts, and procedures
  • Use computerized system for tracking, information gathering, providing information, referrals, routine transactions and/or troubleshooting
  • Answer product, account, policy, and service inquiries, resolve problems, and promote products and services by responding verbally and/or in writing
  • Assess needs and suggest/promote alternative products or services
  • Handle most calls and transactions independently, escalate calls properly when appropriate
  • Practical assimilation of Prudential’s Leadership Competencies

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of directly related customer service experience and well-developed transaction processing experience
  • College degree or equivalent business/military experience preferred
  • Strong people skills with an ability to think like the customer
  • A passion for delivering top quality service
  • Proven record of dependability, punctual and reliable attendance is critical to the success of a fast moving, inbound service center
  • Ability to learn and retain a significant amount of technical information in a relatively short period of time
  • Receptivity to detailed performance feedback
  • Proficiency with a keyboard and window-based applications, including Internet
  • Proven self-motivation skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a team environment, as well as work well independently
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work from home when needed. Upon the successful completion of training and meeting all operational metrics, an alternate work schedule is possible allowing work from home. Associates are expected to have the technology and resources available at home to be able to perform all the functions of their job when the business requires them to work from home.

Please note: training will typically fall between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm Eastern Time, Monday – Friday; however, the OSGLI Customer Service Center is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern Time, Monday – Friday. To be considered, candidates must have the flexibility to be able to work either of the two shifts (7:50am – 3:50pm or 9am – 5:00pm Eastern Time) within those hours. Actual shift assignments will not be determined prior to hire. Over-time may be mandatory during peak times.

The OSGLI department is located at Prudential’s office in Newark, NJ. However, this position will work virtually, therefore new hires must be able to provide the following:

  • High speed internet service must be available in your area. You must be willing to troubleshoot any issues or outages with your home internet service, contacting your service provider as necessary. The internet service cannot be wireless, and the internet speed requirement is: 3.0 mg downstream and 768k upstream.
  • Must have the capability to handle calls with a cell phone (would need to have unlimited data and minutes) or a landline. You will be logging into Avaya therefore your personal phone number will not be identified to customers.
  • Quiet area in your home with minimal distractions and noise free.

*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: $36,600 – $49,700 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.

Hallmark is Hiring Part-Time Retail Merchandisers, Paid Training

This is not an at-home position, but many RRRebels say they like the flexibility and autonomy that Merchandiser jobs offer and have asked us to post more of them.

Hallmark continues to recruit p/t Merchandisers. With these positions you’d travel to local stores to stock cards and perform other duties.

Many people seem to appreciate the chance to “get out of the house” for a little while and be around other adults, without having to go “all in” with a traditional w@h job. If this is you, read on!

Pay isn’t listed on the Hallmark site, though Glassdoor reviews put the average pay at around $13-$14/hr. Travel time is paid and mileage reimbursed.

Here’s what Hallmark has to say about these roles:

This is your opportunity to represent the world’s best-known greeting card brand and develop retailer relationships in your community. Hallmark provides paid training, paid travel time and mileage reimbursement between stores and access to a variety of corporate discounts.

There are three major components of this PART-TIME position:

Day to Day Service:
Product merchandising: You will handle all aspects of product merchandising within your assigned stores. You will use a Hallmark-issued, hand-held mobile device to replenish, straighten and track inventory of Hallmark products. This could include products placed inside the Hallmark department or within other areas of the store.

Store employee and customer interaction: You must interact in a professional manner with store employees, store management and customers while in the store.

Schedule: Your Territory Supervisor will clarify your specific schedule. Work is typically scheduled Monday through Friday during the day and hours will increase during holiday periods.

Holiday Support: Hallmark’s business is season driven. Your scheduled days and hours will increase the week before and after the following holidays – Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
You may be required to work on the actual holiday for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Department Remodels and Resets: Occasionally, you may be required to be a part of an installation team and work on activities to include, but not limited to, building Hallmark fixtures, moving card departments, installing fixtures and product and remodeling card departments.
Typically you will receive at least a 2-week notice for remodel/reset work.


Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and a sense of urgency. You will be working on the selling floor as well as in back stockrooms. You must be able to consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the work day and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will also be required to stoop, squat, walk, and stand throughout your work day, and you may be required to climb stairs and step ladders.

Requirements

  • Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet
  • Able to operate hand-held technology provided to open and read documents and interpret information
  • Flexibility to work a changing work schedule that may include an occasional evening or weekend
  • Reliable transportation to report to assigned locations as scheduled
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Able to read, understand and communicate in English
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • May be required to work the week before and the week after major holidays
