You May Be Owed Money and Not Even Realize It! Check These State Run Unclaimed Property Lists NOW

Did you know that each state has an “Unclaimed Property” division that holds onto money that is owed to people who live (or once lived) there?

SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM, RIGHT? But it’s not! The lists are free and are maintained by the Treasurers of every state. 

The lists include — but aren’t limited to — money owed from old bank accounts, contents of safe deposit boxes, wages, insurance benefits, security deposits, stock dividends and other funds that remain unclaimed for three years or more.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I live in Connecticut (always have, so my search was easy) and ran my name through the state’s Unclaimed Property Search. I found that I was owed money from AT&T and Amazon.

Now, I didn’t even remember ever having an AT&T account until I saw this listing. Reaching back in my memory, I recalled that my landline had been with them for years. But I had terminated that account at least 15 years ago.

In the Connecticut base I also found listings for my son, my father (deceased), my grandfather (deceased), two of my brothers, and a nephew.

In our cases, none of them were huge amounts, but we claimed them and the money should be en route shortly.

Out of curiosity, I also searched the Florida list for another brother. I found that he had a couple of LARGE AMOUNTS from a forgotten insurance policy. I passed the link along to him and he has put in his claim.

There is NO CHARGE TO USE THE SEARCH OR TO CLAIM YOUR FUNDS.

I encourage everyone to jump on to the sites for every state you have lived in to see if you have unclaimed money.

You may find that you have deceased relatives who have money owed as well. In those cases, you can file a claim if you are a relative or beneficiary and can prove the relationship.

The sites are free to use and there is no fee for submitting your claim or obtaining your funds.

There are companies that will charge a finders fee – don’t fall for it, do the search for yourself and keep your money.

We pulled together a list of the search and claim sites for each state for you — have at it!!

  • You can also search MissingMoney.com – a site that is approved by many US States and Canadian Provinces. It’s free, of course, and easy to navigate.
  • Be sure to check all states you have lived in.
  • Be sure to search under previous names
  • If there is a common misspelling of your name, search the incorrect spelling

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer inbound calls from members with questions about medical claims, benefits, eligibility, and prior authorization.

• An average of 50-80 calls are expected daily.

• Take calls back-to-back while toggling through several applications on multiple screens.

• Remain customer-focused at all times to meet tailored needs, providing positive outcomes for our member’s well-being.

• Available to attend 100% of trainings (11-12 weeks) and the first 90 days of employment are required.

• Resolve customer complaints through independent problem-solving skills and one-call resolution.

• Understanding and striving to meet or exceed call center metrics while providing accurate information to callers with a courteous and professional demeanor.

• Enjoy a work-from-home lifestyle where you can virtually connect with coworkers and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 1 year of customer service experience is required.

• A dedicated workspace with no distractions is required.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong organization skills, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm and helpful even when dealing with difficult situations.

• Foster teamwork and partnership with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve customer experience.

For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 17 – 22 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

About This Job

Are you ready to join the most formidable team in the Cannabis space? We exist to increase accessibility to Cannabis, and our Support Team exists to create the best experience possible for our dispensaries and consumers. We provide the highest quality tech support to our dispensaries so they can be successful using our platform, and we help cannabis shoppers find products that meet their needs.

In this role, you will serve as a technical escalation point, providing our customers with creative solutions to their most challenging issues. Your goal is to help our customers resolve their complex issues in the moment when possible. Provide feedback to the product organization for future platform development and improvement.

We’re here to help our customers every day between 5:00 am -10:00 pm PST 365 days a year. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability are required for this role.

What You’ll Do…

  • Learn the DutchiePOS platform end-to-end for all legal Cannabis markets
  • Deliver product support for a heavily regulated compliance-based industry
  • Answer incoming customer requests via email, phone, and chat

  • Provide education including technical, product, and compliance-related support for DutchiePOS end-users
  • Meet customer satisfaction, efficiency, and issue resolution targets

  • Manage multiple complex issues simultaneously
  • Test and verify solutions to new problems

  • 1+ years experience in a technical customer support role
