a Sponsored Post by Chris Durst       Nov. 4, 2024

As we write, this job listing is online and applications appear to be open. But jobs can fill at any time, so apply or share quickly if you’re interested! Sorry, but we have no role in the HR processes of other companies. If you encounter difficulties in the application process please contact them directly. Good luck in your hunt, and may you be working from home soon!

For job seekers on the hunt for a flexible remote opportunity, NexRep is currently contracting independent Customer Service Representatives (CSR) to work from home, with options to set their own schedule.

This unique opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive on making a positive impact and supporting caregivers and patients in self-directed Medicaid programs.

At this time, NexRep contracts with people in 31 states. The only states it does not currently contract in are: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA, and WI. The company does not currently contract with anyone outside of the US.

The Role: Customer Service with a Purpose

As a NexRep Marketplace Customer Service Representative, you will take calls for a client that provides payroll services to Medicaid patients and their chosen caregivers. This position allows you to support the caregiving process by helping families who care for loved ones at home get paid reliably and fairly.

You’ll assist with tasks like:

  • Handling incoming inquiries from both caregivers and patients, answering questions, and providing needed information.
  • Enrolling clients, guiding them through program applications, and assisting with payroll queries.
  • Utilizing de-escalation strategies to help frustrated callers calmly navigate their concerns.

This work requires at least one year of customer service experience, strong communication skills, patience, and a solid ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy.

Requirements and Home Office Setup

To qualify, contractors must have:

  • A Windows-based computer (Windows 10 or 11), 8GB of RAM, and dual monitors.
  • A high-speed wired internet connection (Wi-Fi and satellite connections aren’t supported).
  • A USB noise-canceling headset and webcam for certifications.

These requirements help ensure you can deliver a smooth, uninterrupted experience for callers, making it easier to work independently from home.

Pay Structure: Hourly Rates & Incentive Opportunities

This independent contractor role offers a base pay of $11 per hour, with an increase to $13 per hour after you complete additional certification for handling more complex calls. For this client, NexRep has also established the following one-time incentive for committed CSRs:

  • A $250 incentive which contractors receive after completing the additional certification to handle more complex calls. That additional certification takes place at a later date (currently expected to be in January 2025, though that is subject to change).

Flexible Scheduling for a Better Work-Life Balance

The position’s self-scheduling platform allows contractors to select their hours within the client’s operational times, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET. This flexibility is perfect for those who need a non-traditional schedule or want to pick and choose their hours around other commitments.

Please note that this third-party client requires that contractors service at least 20 hours per week.

Also, due to Mondays and Fridays being particularly busy, the client is seeking contractors who can service some hours on those days.

If you’d prefer to service fewer than 20 hours per week, or not to service any hours on Mondays and Fridays as an independent contractor, you’re free to pursue a different opportunity within the NexRep Marketplace.

Additional Perks and Savings

NexRep contractors can enjoy:

  • One-on-one mentorship
  • Free certification and ongoing development opportunities
  • The chance to achieve better work-life balance
  • Cost savings from working at home—no commuting, work attire, or dining-out expenses.
  • Potential home office tax deductions (consult an accountant for guidance).
  • Access to NexRep’s Perks Program, which provides exclusive discounts on health and dental services, banking, legal and technical support, and more.
