Steno, a tech-enabled court reporting and litigation services company, has posted a Virtual Front Desk Agent job to their careers page.

In this role, you would support customers, providers, and internal operations teams by resolving or triaging requests over the phone and via email. This would involve providing accurate information about Steno’s products and services, and periodically following up by email.

Applicants should have experience providing excellent assistance to clients via phone and email (experience in the legal industry is not required, but is a huge plus!); comfort using online productivity tools such as Slack and Google applications; experience using Ring Central and/or Zendesk is a plus, but not required; and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.

The company provides a home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs.

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Virtual Front Desk Agent to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond), and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry. This role requires you to cover the Central Timezone hours.

Who are you?

We’re looking for a reliable and congenial person with an outstanding phone presence to be the first helpful and hospitable voice our clients hear when they call Steno. Whether they are calling to ask about our services, track a missing invoice, or just to check on an order, we recognize that their first impression is critical. The right candidate will consistently make that first impression an exceptional one.

To meet that goal, the right candidate will be calm and confident even during busy call times. If you’re looking for a company that offers support, guidance, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we’d love to have you, too.




On a regular basis you will

  • Support customers, providers, and our internal operations teams by resolving or triaging requests over the phone and via email.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to callers about Steno’s products and services – some calls might require a follow-up email or a referral to another Steno colleague who has the answer.
  • Collaborate with team members across Steno to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Maintain and update contact lists, ensuring accuracy
  • Deliver administrative support to various departments as needed

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You have past experience providing excellent assistance to clients via phone and email (experience in the legal industry is not required, but is a huge plus!)
  • You demonstrate a warm and welcoming presence on the phone
  • You are comfortable using online productivity tools such as Slack and Google applications (experience using Ring Central and/or
  • Zendesk is a plus, but not required)
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities




Compensation & Benefits

Hourly range: $20-$25
