I love books. There’s always something to learn from career books. So, I was excited to receive the HBR Guide to Remote Work as one of many work from home gifts last year. Even though I have a decade of remote work under my belt, I found tons of helpful tips in its pages. This is a must-read for all remote workers, noobs and pros alike. Plus, it’s from Harvard Business Review. It doesn’t get more reputable than that.

5. Kinetic Desk Ball

I am not a fan of desk toys. But, I truly love this kinetic ball. It’s incredibly mesmerizing. Almost hypnotic. Desk workers will appreciate its presence since it can increase focus and reduce stress. Win-win. Plus, it’s beautiful to look at. Like seriously, get it. It’s such a unique work from home gift.

6. Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Remote workers stare at screens all day. The blue light from devices causes eye strain. Plus, it can mess with biological clocks. Gifting blue light blocking glasses gives relief to tired remote worker eyes. Not to mention, there are super cute styles to choose from.

Remote workers are bad at taking care of themselves. I’m guilty of it. And I know so many virtual buddies are too. But the benefits of self care cannot be understated. • Customer Service experience is NOT REQUIRED.

The company is hiring in TN, MI, LA, NE, AL, MO, WI, SC, KY, IL, VA, GA, MN, IA, OR, WA, NC, WY, IN, AR, OK, UT, TX, NV, AZ, ID, FL, MD, WV, OH, NM, KS, CT, MA and NJ.

Some EQUIPMENT PROVIDED – you provide the monitor and internet connection, Everise provides all other needed equipment.

Pay rate is not noted in the job posting, however, Indeed and Glassdoor put it in the $11-$12/hour range. We have not confirmed this pay rate with the company.

These full-time positions start at $14/hour.

The company also offers a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, 401k, Paid time off, and paid holidays.

“The purpose of the Telephone Customer Service Representative is to increase providers with accurate, consistent, timely, and meaningful information. Build rapport and collaborative relationships with current and prospective members in accordance with compliance guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Be available to handle inquiries. Represent Health Plan by answering and documenting all incoming contacts to determine their nature, and respond to complex calls related to specialized product lines or ques.
• Initiate contact with the appropriate health plan, medical group and facility personnel to obtain information relevant to the concern or inquiry as needed.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge:

• Call center experience preferred. Health insurance experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years customer service experience preferred.
• Minimum typing speed = 30wpm.
• Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Ability to thoroughly understand a large, complex organization and its functional policies, processes, and customers.
