Empathy is a tech-enabled care company that helps families navigate loss and other major life transitions, combining human support with guided tools and resources.
In this role, you’ll deliver bilingual (English/French) support across phone, chat, and email, helping users understand next steps (including probate and tax-related considerations), building personalized care plans for managed-care users, documenting cases to meet SLAs, and escalating sensitive situations appropriately. You’ll also capture patterns and feedback to improve internal knowledge and the product experience.
Best fit: someone with ~2+ years in customer-facing support/counseling/concierge-style work who can stay organized, communicate calmly in both languages, and handle sensitive, high-emotion conversations. Remote (U.S.-based) and U.S. work authorization required; weekend/evening availability is preferred.

Provide bilingual care and guidance to Empathy users via phone/chat/email, connecting them to tools/resources and helping them navigate the logistics of loss.
Responsibilities
- Support users’ practical and emotional needs via phone, live chat, email, and other channels.
- Act as a product expert connecting users to Empathy tools and resources.
- Communicate clearly in English and French using the Empathy “voice”.
- Meet SLA requirements through strong organization and documentation.
- Escalate sensitive issues appropriately; handle sensitive user data with care.
- Help users navigate probate and understand tax implications.
- Create personalized Care Plans for Managed Care users.
- Surface user insights and knowledge gaps to support product development.
Relevant Experience & Skills
- Fluent French + English
- U.S. resident + work authorization
- 2 years customer-facing / counseling / support / concierge (internships count)
- Comfortable learning new tools/tech; able to create step-by-step process flows
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving across competing priorities
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated compensation for this role is $24.00 – $26.00/hr.
