Block builds consumer and merchant financial products (Cash App, Square, Afterpay).
This role is on Afterpay’s outbound small-and-medium business (SMB) sales team, focused on prospecting and outreach to small-to-mid sized online retailers.
Day to day, you’ll cold outreach (phone/email), run needs discovery, track activity in Salesforce, and build pipeline against monthly/quarterly targets. It’s best suited for entry-to-early career candidates with at least some customer service or sales experience who are comfortable with high-volume outbound work and KPI-based performance.

This is an outbound SMB BDR role building pipeline for Afterpay/Cash App Pay through cold outreach and discovery.
Responsibilities
- Use cold outreach strategies to develop new leads and opportunities with retailers
- Develop and maintain a high-volume sales pipeline to hit KPIs/targets
- Conduct needs analysis to understand client requirements and pain points
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and hand off to Account Executives
Relevant Experience & Skills
- 1+ year of relevant experience in customer service or sales (outbound a plus)
- Strong written and phone communication; comfortable cold calling (including executives/owners
- Organized/time-managed; able to move fast against targets
- Familiarity with common sales tools (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
Compensation & Benefits
The expected compensation for this role is $63,700 – $79,768/yr. (varies by U.S. compensation zone).
